Welcome to POLAB! We study how manufacturing and logistics systems can run more productively — ports, shipyards, and automated factories — by treating day-to-day operations as scheduling and optimization problems. We believe productivity comes not from adding resources but from how work is sequenced, allocated and coordinated. Our tools are scheduling theory, exact and heuristic optimization, and discrete-event simulation; our results are algorithms that a site engineer can run every day.

Research Interests

Scheduling, optimization, and simulation for manufacturing and logistics systems — from automated ports and shipyards to semiconductor and automotive production lines.
